Dear Students,

Welcome to our department. First of all, we would like you to know that you have joined a very good university and a very good department. When the classes begin, we will meet you in person and explain our department and your profession in detail. However, before that, I would like to draw your attention to some important issues.

Earthquake strengthening works are ongoing in our department building and are expected to be completed within the 2026-2027 academic year. Therefore, during this academic year, we will continue our education in the Faculty of Architecture building, located 200 meters away from our department. The Departments of Environmental Engineering and Chemical Engineering, located in the Faculty of Architecture building, have kindly hosted us by sharing their classrooms and offices for our faculty members. We would like to thank them.

Although we will be in the same building in this situation, the offices of our faculty members and the classrooms are distributed among different departments (Chemical Engineering and Environmental Engineering) and on different floors. However, as soon as the earthquake strengthening of our own department building is completed, we will return to our own building, and you will most probably continue your second year in our own building.
