Purpose:
The Erasmus Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the efficient, organized, and academically appropriate execution of outbound and inbound mobility activities (study and internship) for students and faculty members within the framework of the European Union Erasmus+ program. This includes coordinating the academic and administrative processes for incoming and outgoing students.
Job Description and Responsibilities
Information and Promotion Activities:
Organize introductory meetings for students and faculty members about the Erasmus+ program, providing information on application requirements and timelines.
Application and Selection Process:
Receive Erasmus study and internship mobility applications, ensure that all required documents are completed, and conduct a fair selection process based on scoring and evaluation criteria.
Equivalent Course Planning:
Verify the compatibility of courses taken by outgoing students at foreign universities with the department curriculum, evaluate and approve Learning Agreement (LA) documents in terms of academic compatibility.
Academic Monitoring of Students:
Monitor the academic performance of students participating in the Erasmus program and handle the credit transfer and grade conversion processes upon their return.
Processes Related to Incoming Students:
Support foreign Erasmus students arriving at the department in course selection, advisor assignment, academic guidance, and adaptation processes.
Coordination with the International Office:
Maintain constant communication with the University’s International Relations Office to ensure that department-level processes are aligned with the central office.
Follow-up and Update of Bilateral Agreements:
Ensure that bilateral agreements with foreign universities within the Erasmus framework remain up-to-date regarding duration, content, and departmental matching; develop proposals for new agreements.
Academic Advising Role:
Act as an academic advisor for students participating in Erasmus, guiding their academic planning to fit the Erasmus period.
Statistics and Reporting:
Regularly report data related to participant numbers, partner institutions, mobility types, and success rates to the International Office and prepare internal department reports.
Cultural Integration and Guidance:
Provide orientation support to incoming students about the campus, city, and department; actively participate in activities aimed at enhancing cultural integration.
