Purpose:
The Mevlana Exchange Program is an international program that supports student and faculty exchange between higher education institutions in Turkey and abroad. The Department Mevlana Coordinator is responsible for managing exchange processes, ensuring academic compatibility, and providing academic advising to students within this framework.
Job Description and Responsibilities
Program Promotion and Information:
Organize informational meetings for students and faculty members about the Mevlana program, including its content, application requirements, and benefits.
Application Process Monitoring:
Collect applications from students and faculty, assess their eligibility, and ensure that application files are fully prepared.
Course Equivalence Planning:
Check the compatibility of courses that outgoing students will take at foreign universities with the department's curriculum, prepare the Learning Protocol, and obtain approvals.
Academic Advising:
Provide academic advising to outgoing students; guide them on course selection, academic calendar alignment, and fulfilling program outcomes.
Reception of Incoming Students:
Support incoming foreign students in course registration, advisor assignment, and academic adjustment processes; contribute to the orientation phase.
Coordination with the International Relations Office:
Work in coordination with the University Mevlana Institutional Coordination Office, ensuring proper communication and document flow.
Monitoring Protocols and Agreements:
Track the validity of inter-institutional agreements made within the Mevlana framework and propose new agreements with potential partner universities.
Annual Mobility Planning and Reporting:
Regularly report to the Mevlana Institutional Coordination Office about the number of participating students and faculty, as well as their host countries and universities.
Credit and Grade Conversion Processes:
Ensure that credit transfer and grade conversion processes for returning students are completed in accordance with the academic calendar.
Archiving and Documentation:
Ensure the systematic archiving of students' learning protocols, course equivalence decisions, achievement certificates, and evaluation forms.
