Purpose:
This committee ensures that the graduation thesis and project processes for undergraduate students are conducted in accordance with academic standards, organizes advisor appointments, and provides guidance throughout the process to help students develop their scientific research and reporting skills.
Responsibilities:
Process Planning and Determining the Calendar:
Prepare and announce the annual academic calendar, including thesis/project application, execution, submission, and presentation dates.
Update relevant guidelines (e.g., writing rules, evaluation criteria) and share them with students.
Advisor Assignment Process:
Assign advisors to students in a fair and balanced manner based on their academic interests.
Evaluate and make necessary adjustments in case of advisor change requests.
Topic and Content Approval:
Evaluate the thesis/project topics submitted by students in terms of academic adequacy, ethical compliance, and alignment with program outcomes.
Provide revisions or guidance when necessary.
Process Monitoring and Support:
Monitor the students' progress by following up on the study plans created with their advisors to ensure consistent progress.
Organize necessary meetings, seminars, and training sessions to raise awareness among students about the process.
Evaluation and Jury Process:
Coordinate the formation of jury committees for students who have submitted their graduation thesis/project.
Ensure a fair and transparent evaluation process based on the presentation, report content, and advisor's feedback.
Academic Ethics and Similarity Reports:
Conduct plagiarism checks on submitted works and ensure ethical compliance.
Request revisions from students and advisors when necessary.
Archiving and Reporting:
Ensure the digital archiving of completed thesis/project files.
Prepare a committee report at the end of the term, including numerical data (e.g., participation rates, success rates) and recommendations, and submit it to the department head.
