This committee operates to ensure that the qualifying exam process at the graduate level in the Department of Computer Engineering is conducted in an orderly, transparent, and academically sound manner. The primary objective of the committee is to adopt a fair and systematic approach to assessing students’ academic competencies, to continuously improve exam procedures, and to provide guidance to students in line with their academic development.
1. Planning and Implementation of the Qualifying Exam Process:
Determine and announce qualifying exam dates, and ensure that the process aligns with the academic calendar.
Appoint exam juries and coordinate with the relevant faculty members.
Ensure the exam content complies with the program's graduate-level learning outcomes and update it when necessary.
2. Student Information and Guidance:
Organize information sessions and provide guidance to students during their preparation for the qualifying exam.
Provide clear and up-to-date information about the exam scope, assessment criteria, and application procedures.
Verify the eligibility of applicants and monitor the process.
3. Evaluation and Feedback Processes:
Ensure timely evaluation of exam results and organize the delivery of official feedback to students.
Encourage the development of improvement plans for unsuccessful students and collaborate with academic advisors.
Analyze any issues that arise during the exam process and develop appropriate solutions.
4. Monitoring and Enhancing Academic Standards:
Ensure that the exam system is in line with national and international academic standards.
Regularly review assessment methods for academic performance and update them when needed.
Develop strategies to enhance the quality of education and training.
5. Promotion, Reporting, and Stakeholder Communication:
Prepare exam statistics and annual evaluation reports.
Share information regularly with institute and faculty administrations.
Collaborate with academic advisors and faculty members to develop improvement proposals for the exam system.
